Welcome to the online version of Strata, an exhibition that represents the culmination of four months of hard work and dedicated practice by this year’s wonderful group of Bridge House Art Portfolio Course students.  

 

We’ve loved spending the winter working alongside such a dedicated, imaginative and creative group of women as they’ve explored their own artistic language and grown in creative and personal confidence while doing it.   Like geological strata that reveal the passage of time through accumulated layers, this exhibition captures the students' exploration of colour, texture, and technique and reveals the creative journey of a diverse group of artists who have travelled from across the globe – including Sweden and New Zealand – for an immersive artistic adventure. 

 

Some of our students this year arrived as beginners taking their first steps, some as established artists seeking new directions and in all cases, the final works in this show are testament to creative courage and the transformative power of dedicated practice.
