Lesley is from Linlithgow.  She was excited to join the Portfolio Course, with the aspiration to learn how to paint using oils.

Personal Statement

Early in the course, Lesley found a great subject for her project.  The ruined boat is a local feature lying at the mouth of the Ullapool River.  Doungie's abandoned fishing boat was called The Sisters after the Five Sisters of Kintail.  The skeletal remains offer many interesting aspects for both landscape and close-up compositions.  Lesley enjoyed painting the exciting shapes created by the boat.
