Course Information

This exciting and challenging course will begin with ways of drawing from the varied landscape around the BHA studio. Looking at expressive methods of drawing using line, tone and colour, students will be encouraged to think of printmaking as a way of interpreting and re-interpreting their own expressive mark-making. Kittie’s approach to print and the teaching of print is experimental and she is interested in pushing the boundaries of what simple processes can do. This makes for a lively week and opens up the possibilities of what print can be. Never a static, single image but instead stages of a process designed to allow for further reinterpretation and creative expression. Print methods used will include various monotype and collagraph processes resulting in rich, colourful works. The work of a range of contemporary printmakers will be looked at for inspiration.
