Course Information

This course will use 'the garden' and all its magic as the starting point for the course. Working both in the studio from a 'garden set up' with bunches of cut flowers and gardenalia, as well as the Bridge House Art studio garden, we will draw, print and paint our way to creating a body of work that captures the essence and feeling of being immersed in the summer garden. Over the course of the week we will consider ways in which to respond loosely and expressively to our subject matter, exploring the importance of colour, and thinking about how our materials and processes can influence our approach. Expect mixed media, explosive colour, and working across a variety of scales as we learn how the garden has inspired artists across the centuries.
