Course Information

The joy of being outside on a summer’s day experiencing the atmosphere, the weather and the changing light on landscape is a thing that many of us long for. As artists this simple pleasure becomes something that challenges us, what is it we see and how do we respond with the materials we choose to work with? The simple notion of seeing combined with the complexities of what we see and how we develop images will be the inspiration for this course. It will cover drawing direct from the landscape in mixed media in combination with studio work where images can be distilled and many mixed media layers built upon to give richness to the experience of being out there and responding to the simplicity and complexity of the landscape. This course will suit those wishing a landscape experience and the opportunity to work with mixed media and simple printmaking on both a large and small scale.
