The Horizon
The horizon as a motif is used by many artists as a means to depict both observed and abstracted images. It is a visual metaphor for division. It separates vast elemental forces; sky and land, sky and sea, both urban and rural skylines. The course will look at the horizons division of both the natural landscape and the rooftops and skylines around Ullapool. A wide and varied use of media will be used both in experimental and traditional ways.
The main emphasis and inspiration being the ever present and elusive horizon.
