Layers of ordered streets, views of open landscapes, lichen covered walls, peeling paint, new buildings, narrow lanes holding light filled spaces; all these images contribute towards the character of Ullapool. The course will offer students the chance to draw paint and print from around the village, harbour and shore, then returning to the studio environment to develop a series of work that aims to capture a personal sense of place. A digital camera will be helpful for this course, as a means to build a visual journal. A studio camera is available for use.
