Finding the Motif
An imaginative Journey

Moving away from direct observation this course will begin by gathering many images on small pieces of paper and in sketchbooks. As you engage with the landscape around, you will be asked to return to the images that are most powerful to you and stay with them to create work based on your motif. The resulting work though rooted in the observational process will undergo a transformation into an imaginative response in structure, texture, format and colour. This course would suit students who have some experience.
