The course will begin by gathering drawings from the wide open landscape in order to experience the weather, nature and the atmosphere of place these drawings will work in series, each relating to the other.  Expressive drawing combined with intense observation will lead the way enabling students to discover what interests them most.

From this the course will develop on to working on canvas with colour and surface texture focusing on the choice of theme the series of work will take. The final outcome will be a series of canvases that have the essence of the west coast at the heart of their exploration.
