Fragments and Residue

8th - 12th August, 2016
Tutor: Eleanor White
Course Fee: £350
Fully Booked!
A mixed media landscape course that allows the student to discover and explore the hidden and undiscovered moments of their surroundings. Finding the small, but powerful marks and images that are present within the vast expansive views of the Ullapool landscape will be the focus of this week.

Starting by using many methods of drawing from observation out in situ, the course will then develop on to exploring different ways of recording marks on different surfaces.

This will then lead to a more in-depth mixed media painting over a few days where students can take the opportunity to develop a piece of work that encompasses their experience of landscape fragments and residue.

This is a course for those who would like to explore both observation and abstraction within their work.

All summer school courses run from 9.30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. All materials and equipment are supplied, with a simple lunch provided daily. It is important to wear old clothes as art is a messy business. Be prepared and dress for the Highland weather, expect sun and rain, four seasons have been experienced in one day! Outdoor, waterproof clothing is essential.
