Palimpsest - the layered image

29th June - 3rd July 2015
Tutor: Eleanor White
Course Fee: £330
 Fully Booked

This course will challenge our ideas of building an image. It will concentrate on lost and found marks, the nature of building one image on top of the next, surfaces, one on top of the other, layering the history of your own personal enquiry using words drawing and colour.

An object, natural or man-made, will be the starting point. This will lead and guide you through the creative process, with the expressed aim to explore marks that build an image, colour that gives character and surface texture that arrives by osmosis to give you a personal palimpsest.

This is an ideal opportunity for those who want to experiment with drawing, scale and mark-making.

All courses run from 9.30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. All materials and equipment are supplied, with a simple lunch provided daily. It is important to wear old clothes as art is a messy business. Be prepared and dress for the Highland weather, expect sun and rain, four seasons have been experienced in one day! Outdoor, waterproof clothing is essential.
