Celebrating the Small

22nd - 26th June 2015
Tutor: Eleanor White
Course Fee: £330
    Fully Booked!

This course will give students the opportunity to look at small things; perhaps an object, natural or man-made, a tiny part of nature or a tiny part of a landscape. Whatever it is you chose, this will become the subject of celebration.

Using intense observation to get to know your 'small thing' and a series of simple writing exercises, the course will progress on to give character to your subject through colour, surface texture and form.
Work will be created on both large and small scale, giving potential for abstract images to develop as the 'seeing' process evolves. This course will broaden your ideas of what is possible from small and often overlooked starting points and give purpose and direction to your future work.

All courses run from 9.30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. All materials and equipment are supplied, with a simple lunch provided daily. It is important to wear old clothes as art is a messy business. Be prepared and dress for the Highland weather, expect sun and rain, four seasons have been experienced in one day! Outdoor, waterproof clothing is essential.
