Attended 2000/2001 + 2005/2006

Attending the Bridge House Art portfolio course was a hugely valuable experience for me. So much so that I did it twice! The first time round I had been on a couple of Bridge House Art short courses and found them both inspiring and fulfilling.

Having decided I wanted to go to Art School I enrolled on the portfolio course in the winter of 2000. Working artistically every day with the support of tutor Eleanor White was an amazing experience. Bridge House Art offers a unique environment in which to develop your artistic skills whilst working closely with the critical support of the whole group. I also learned to work independently and developed skills of self motivation which are vital to any arts practice.

In 2001 I was accepted to study Painting at Glasgow School of Art, however due to a number of reasons I decided to take a few years out. Returning to Bridge House Art in 2005 was a little like coming home! When I think of Bridge House Art now I remember the huge amount of work that we produced with Eleanor's guidance. Our group was very close and so I also remember doing a lot of laughing throughout the course and met some fantastic people.

In 2010 I graduated from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art with a B.A. Hons in Fine Art. I now live in Cornwall and continue to make and exhibit my work. Even now when I am creating work, the skills I learned at Bridge House Art are at the forefront of my mind. If I could I would probably do the course a third time!
