Fully Booked

It is with great pleasure that we have Jacqueline Watt teaching on the summer school this year. Jacqueline is a renowned artist and teacher who is equally skilled with beginners as well as those with some experience. A sprit of daring will be asked for in your approach to this course!

The aim of this course is to demonstrate the process and practice involved in creating, rich, vibrant and meaningful paintings based on informed research and gathered information.

The structure of the week will involve students working from direct observation outside in the surrounding landscape of Ullapool and Coigach, then translating their mixed media studies and gathered information into large scale works back in the studio. A portfolio, full of Images and ideas for future and continued work, will be our final result.

'An end is to make a beginning...the end is where we start from....' T.S Elliot

All courses run from 9.30am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. All materials and equipment are supplied, with a simple lunch provided daily. It is important to wear old clothes as art is a messy business. Be prepared and dress for the Highland weather, expect sun and rain, four seasons have been experienced in one day! Outdoor, waterproof clothing is essential.
