Welcome to Bridge House Art, a creative environment for making and studying art. The studio was established in 1995 and has continued to offer a rich and varied programme of courses each year.
The summer school runs from June till September and offers a wide variety of contemporary courses in oil painting, printmaking, mixed media landscape painting and creating artists books. Each week has a different theme and focus and is delivered by inspiring and experienced tutors.
In autumn the Portfolio Course begins. This is a full time intensive course of 16 weeks study in the visual arts from October till March offering the student an opportunity to develop work in greater depth. This course is held at An Talla Solais, Ullapool Visual Arts centre and is taught by the director and main tutor of Bridge House Art, Eleanor White.
The studio sits above the fast flowing Ullapool river and offers excellent studio facilities for a maximum of 10 students. It is open to all, the beginner or experienced artist alike and aims to develop a greater visual language, increase creativity and encourage new direction. The ethos behind the courses is that all can think and communicate visually and express through a variety of media a genuine response to the environment around.
Last year celebrated a much awaited extension to the studio and was enjoyed by many who came offering a lovely light space within which to be creative.
